I am new to this forum but was diagnosed with an anomalous right coronary artery on March 24, 2010. I have just a single coronary artery originating off my aorta and my anomalous right originates fairly high up my left main (fairly proximal to the aorta). It is kinked and courses between my aorta and pulmonary artery resulting in compression. On March 25, 2010 I underwent a CABG x 1 (RIMA to RCA) under the care of Drs. Burdon and Fann at the Palo Alto Veterans Affairs Hospital where I work.
I was dx in March of 2011 of having a single right coronary with anomalous LAD and LCX both arising from the proximal portion.....The LCX takes a retroaortic course and the LAD which is diminutive takes a interarterial course .....Dx was confirmed at Mayo Clinic ...I was put on medicine to reduce my HR and BP and feel pretty good.. Dont know how many people my age (61) are out there with this variation but sure would like to...
